We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. We would like to begin by saying thank you for choosing Stratford Little League as your league of choice here in Stratford! We were eagerly anticipating the start of the 2020 Spring Season, yet the COVID-19 pandemic has completely altered our plans.
Stratford Little League has made the very difficult and unfortunate decision to cancel the season for the following baseball divisions:

After very careful consideration and review of all local, state, CDC and Little League established guidelines, we determined it would not be possible to adhere to these strict safety precautions with our players under the age of 9. There are many reasons we came to this decision for our younger players including their maturity at those ages and understanding the importance of following strict rules including social distancing among others. We are a 100% volunteer organization and could not put that responsibility on our volunteers, many that are also new to our league. We know you have been anxiously awaiting the start of baseball season just as we have, however it is in the best interest and safety of our younger players and families to cancel. We hope to be able to offer Fall Ball and will keep you posted on those plans.
Stratford Little League will offer 3 methods of handling your registration fees that you have paid. We ask that you consider possibly donating them to our league to help offset the costs already incurred. Due to this pandemic we have lost more than 70% of our sponsorship due to businesses being forced to shut down temporarily and some of them unfortunately closing permanently.
Option 1 - Changing your registration fee to a donation. With our league being a non profit (501C-3)Your donation will be tax deductible. Upon request we can issue a donation receipt to use for your taxes.
Option 2 - You also have the option to receive a credit towards your registration fee of a future season.
Option 3 - We will gladly reimburse our families for their registration fees, less any processing fees charged by our third-party vendor.

We hope to have all surveys completed within a couple of weeks and the refund process will begin immediately after. Thank you for your continued support of our league.
