Stratford Little League's A Division softball is an instructional level for 6 and 7 year old players who are new to the game. This division is a coach pitch division and focuses on the fundamentals of the game like hitting, off of a tee and soft toss, fielding, and throwing. Players will begin to learn the rules of softball. Practice and games are played with soft 11" softballs. Expect one mid-week practice and one weekend game per week.

Batting helmet with facemask

Cleats

Fielding mask (Optional but suggested)

Stratford Little League's AA Division softball is an instructional level for 8 and 9 year old players who have learned the basic skills of the game in coach pitch. This division uses modified fastpitch softball rules where players will begin learning to pitch with guide rails and coach assistance. Normal strike zone and outs will be observed. Practice and games are played with hard 11" softballs and the pitching rubber is 30' from the plate. Expect one mid-week practice and one weekend game per week.

Fielding mask (Optional but suggested)

This division is for girls 11 and under. It is a kid pitch league with the rubber at 35'. Coaches may assist pitchers if they are struggling to throw strikes. Games are limited to 1 hr 30 min with no innings beginning after 1 hr 15 min.

Stratford Little League's AAA Division softball is an intermediate instructional level for 9 - 11 year old players who have learned excelled in A and AA divisions. It is a kid pitch league with the rubber at 35'. Coaches may assist pitchers if they are struggling to throw strikes. Practice and games are played with hard 11" softballs and the pitching rubber is 35' from the plate. Expect one to two practices and one game per week.

Stratford Little League's Majors division is for girls 12 and under. This division follows all fastpitch softball rules. The pitching rubber is set at 40' with 60' bases. Practices and games are played with 12" softballs. Expect two practices and one game per week.

Fielding mask (Optional but strongly suggested)

Stratford Little League's Juniors division is for girls 14 and under. This division follows all fastpitch softball rules. The pitching rubber is set at 40' with 60' bases. Practices and games are played with 12" softballs. Expect two practices and one game per week.
