Stratford Little League's A Division is for players who are softball age 6 and 7 (birth year 2019 and 2018) with softball age 8 allowed upon request if the player is not experienced. In this division, girls will learn the basics of the game. Girls will play with an 11" "softee" softball. Coaches will pitch to their own players. Every player hits every inning. Batters can neither strike out nor walk. After a number of unhit pitches, a player will hit off of a tee to complete the at bat. Early in the season, outs in the field may not be observed, players may only take one base per hit, and there is no advancement on overthrows. After Memorial Day, and at the coaches' discretion, the team may begin observing strikeouts, outs made in the field, advancement on base for balls hit in the outfield, and/or advancement on overthrows.

Games are 3 innings long or 90 minutes max. Expect 1-2 weekday practices and one weekend game per week.

Stratford Little League's AA Division softball is for players who are softball age 8 and 9 (birth year 2017 and 2016) with softball age 10 allowed upon request if the player is not experienced. In this division, girls will be introduced to a modified player pitch format. Play will use 11" hard softballs. Pitchers will pitch from a rubber at 35'. After 2 walks in an inning, coaches will relieve a pitcher at every 3 ball count. Balls and strikes are observed and players can now walk and strikeout. Players may advance on the bases at their own risk on balls in play and advance one base on overthrows. Players may take leads when the ball crosses the plate; and there are 2 steals allowed per inning - except at home.

Games are 6 innings long or 1 hr 45 minutes max. Expect 2 weekday practices and one weekend game per week.

Stratford Little League's AAA Division softball is for players who are softball age 10 and 11 (birth year 2017 and 2016). Younger players may be allowed to play up if they show adequate skill in evaluations. In this division, girls will be introduced to a modified player pitch format. Play will use 11" hard softballs. Pitchers will pitch from a rubber at 35'. There is no coach intervention - walks are unlimited. Batter counts are observed. Players may advance on the bases at their own risk on balls in play and overthrows. The play ends when the ball is possessed by the pitcher within the pitching circle. Runners between bases may be allowed to advance based on the umpire's discretion. Players may take leads when the ball crosses the plate; and there are no restrictions on stealing. Certain softball rules are not observed: Uncaught 3rd strikes, Continuation on walks, Infield fly.

Games are 6 innings long or 1 hr 45 minutes max. Expect 1-2 practices and 1-2 games per week.

Stratford Little League's Majors division is for players who are softball age 11 and 12 (birth year 2014 and 2013). Play will use 12" softballs. Pitchers pitch from the rubber at 40'. Runners may take a lead at the release of the pitch; and advance at their own risk on all balls in play and overthrows without restriction. Continuation, uncaught 3rd strike, and infield fly rules are all in place.

Games are 6 innings long or 1 hr 45 minutes max. Expect 1-2 practices and 1-2 games per week.

Stratford Little League's Juniors divisionis for players who are softball age 13 and 14 (birth year 2012 and 2011). Play will use 12" softballs. Pitchers pitch from the rubber at 43'. Runners may take a lead at the release of the pitch; and advance at their own risk on all balls in play and overthrows without restriction. Continuation, uncaught 3rd strike, and infield fly rules are all in place.

Games are 7 innings long or 2 hrs max. Expect 1-2 practices and 1-2 games per week. Games may be double headers on the weekends.

Stratford Little League Tee Ball is an introductory level baseball program designed for children, ages 4 (with volunteer), 5 and 6, where players hit a ball off a batting tee, focusing on learning basic baseball fundamentals like swinging the bat, running bases, catching, and throwing, all while prioritizing fun and participation over competition.

Every Saturday from 9am-11am which will include a practice followed by a game.

Stratford Little League's Majors division is a modified version of baseball for developing players ages 11 and 12 who have demonstrated the ability to excel at the minors level. At this level, players who excel in season may qualify for tournament teams and may even participate in the Little League World Series. Expect one to two practices and one game per week.

The Little League Baseball skills clinic will be run by Coach Mick Buckmir, Varsity Baseball Coach for Stratford High School, and SHS players. The clinic will focus on fundamentals of playing the sport - catching, throwing, hitting, moving. The clinic is open to players league age 8+.

This clinic will run Sunday February 15 and 22 10 am - 1 pm in the Stratford High Gym.
